Another Mystery of Life
Here's another mystery of life that maybe one of you can explain logically. (by the way, welcome back but there will be more of that later)Whilst sitting in the glorious sunshine that we are experiencing at the moment I was pondering upon what to have for my lunch. It struck me. Cheese and biscuits, or crackers, or whatever. as i had nothing else to ponder about my mind went a wandering. What I came up with might astound you all but never the less it is quite a relevant point to be made. What side does one butter the biscuit on?

Is it the top side or the underside? I don't know. Has there ever been a study done on this matter? Indeed, what does ettiquette have to say on this matter? Then it struck me. Just as I was getting all worked up about this very issue I said to myself, who gives a feck! there are far more important things in life to be worrying about. Things like, 'When am i going to get my feckin' laptop back in FULL working order?'

Now there is a story and a half. So that i won't bore you too much with all the gory details I will try and give you the abridged version. Here goes. Heart attack / daughter finds me / thinks I'm dead / panics / hysterics / calls for ambulance / hospital / needles and tubes everywhere / monitored for a week / got home / find out I have smashed my laptop screen (my new laptop screen) / insurance won't pay / take it to repair shop / they have it for 3 weeks / collected yesterday / still not working, even though I paid them for a FULL service / took back to repair shop / phone call today to say it is in working order / we'll see! There, I reckon if Tolstoy had put his mind to it he could have written War and Peace like that.

The other down side thing to my last stay in hospital is that my cardiologist has told me I am not allowed to travel for a while, maybe anything up to 8 weeks. As a result I had to cancel our cruise that we were / are supposed to be on as I write this. I also had to cancel a trip to London for a get together with the lads. Friends arriving from all over the planet and I am going to miss it. Durn!

And things seem to only have got worse. While i was in hospital I was told about our web site going down. Sorry about that but it is up and running again thanks to my mate who knows more about techy things than the guy in the repair shop where my laptop is. Anyway, i thought that we had been hacked into, like what we had done to us before, but it turned out to be our host site. as a result of their stupidity and brainless activity my mate went about changing hosts and eventually got things up and running again. thanks to all those peeps who were so concerned about things that they e mailed me about it and even went on my Facebook to tell me about it. There wasn't a lot I could do about it as I didn't have the use of my laptop. (At the moment I am still using this old PC that sits in the house somewhere)

Still, the weather is glorious and I am going to go outside and sit somewhere nice in the garden and watch the plants grow or something as mundane as that. I might even doze off and dream about getting my laptop back in working order.

Nice comments only as I am still recouperating.

Ta Rah for now

Welcome back, you and your laptop, pleased to hear that you are enjoying sunshine. It started raining here early this morning current temp. 11C, very welcome rain as we finished sowing the wheat last week, also lots of lambs being born, about to start fencing program for this winter, cycling going well, attempting 60/70km this Sunday,(that is distance not speed). Hope all is well with your family, and greetings to fellow blog readers, missing Anorak,s banter.

Guess what. Guess, guess, guess. Go on have a go. No. Here's what. My Premium Bond came up again. Not once but twice. Now what can I do with the £25.00 that I won. I suppose I'll just put it together with the other £25.00 that I won. £50.00 in total and it's all tax free. Do you want to borrow any money Mr Cameron?

Hi gang, i hope yer all keeping well. I too received a Premium Bond this month a mere 25 quid, still better in my pocket than theirs. I've moved house in the last few weeks, a stressful experience not helped by the amount of rubbish i've managed to collect over the years, anyway thats all my news for now, see ya'll later. Cheers!!

Was great to watch (on tv) McDowell winning the US Open. That course, is in a beautiful area; in fact, the announcer said it is much like the area where McDowell is from, it is about 300 miles from our location. Glad to hear you are having some good weather. Yesterday was Father's Day here, not sure if it is held the same day in N.I., whether it is or not, Happy Faather's Day to all. God Bless and take care.

Have been trying hard to change my bank accounts from one bank to another. a lot more paperwork involved than the ads on telly make it out to be. At the end of the day I am getting a far superior interest rate on my savings. I suppose that makes it all worthwhile. as for Father's Day gifts from my kids. One took the hint I dropped, one didn't. Guess which one didn't!

Not on hols! Nasty virus on my computer blocked me from doing anything at all since last Tuesday. Left it with a friend to get fixed and borrowed my Son,s computer. Guess what? His was down as well although it was of a lesser problem than mine. So, left it with the same Techy friend and he sorted it first. Mine should be back with me soon. Also had to buy a new power supply for mine, £25 from PC World. All I need to do next is upgrade the memory and get a DVD Rewriter as mine did,nt have one. My friend says it,s easy to fit...........for him..yes.....for me to do.....we will see.

Been busy fencing, taking down 60year old wooden fences and replacing with steel, a bit costly but worth it for the sheep security. We are having a price boom at the moment in sheep, was a good excuse to clear out a lot of older and culled ewes. Three frosty days in a row followed by a nice drop of rain, oat and wheat crops looking good. Off to a Christmas in July dinner at the golf club tonight, roast turkey and pork on the menu, $28 a head, have saved enough to take Mary as well. Hope you are enjoying the summer in Bangor.

McDuff, just thinking about you there whilst sorting out some old CD,s. Was listening to Murray Lachlan Young singing (????) "I,m being followed by the Rolling Stones".......strange, to say the least! You,ve probably heard it, if not give it a listen.

Don't worry. Things will start to happen soon. Keep talking amongst yourselves. Getting sorted for going away in September. It's amazing the differences in currency exchange rates in this town. Just by walking from one end of the street to the other comparing rates I managed to get the same rates being offered on line plus bonus points to boot. Great innit!

As a matter of interest, what ports will you be visiting on your cruise? We have visited quite a few and just wondered if you will be going to some of them. By the way it,s getting very difficult talking amongst "myself".

Where is everyone? Any news is interesting, come on folk "speak-up". Last night I was looking at a lot of houses on the internet that are for sale in Bangor, can't believe the prices. It is interesting to see the ones that I am familiar with the locations. No, we are not planning on buying, just interested, should have done that years ago. Weather here today is 82 degress. Cheerio, God Bless

Bon Voyage to you and yours, enjoy a wonderful cruise and an experience that you will remember for a life-time. I think I told you before that when we were in Juneau it was 85 degrees. Yesterday and today, here in our back garden, it was and is 99 degrees. It must be my Irish blood, but this is far too hot for me. God Bless

OK folks. It looks as though we have a problem bigger than was originally thought. The real biggie is that the whole site is going to have to be re-programmed. This will take forever as my partner (the guy who knows all the techy / geegy / nerdy stuff has just been promoted in his job and now he travels all over the world with hardly any time to play with this) His partner is also going through a cancer scare / treatment so that also takes priority. My laptop has been infected and I can't even get online (I am using my wifes PC at the moment) I am going away until the end of September on my Summer hols, with my wife of course, and the next time I will see my puter friend will be some time in October. As for the blog, the only way I can keep it going is through this forum which is a bit of a pain as that is not what it was set up for in the first place. I am about to take my laptop down to -----PC World of all places but they seem to think that they can fix everything on it. (without losing my iTunes I hope) Another thing just to keep you up to date. I have made the momentous decision to part with my much loved and cosetted music collection. Yes, that includes the Rolling Stones collection as well. When I stop crying about it I will give you my reasoning behind this decision. Speak soon
