This message is for Heather Angus. Do you remember Harriette Murphy, we lived on Abbey Street. You and I were born 1 day apart. Left Bangor in 1961.

Hi I found your site/blog as I was looking for McBlains. I am researching my family and also my mum (Sandford) always took me to Bangor when we were on holiday in Belfast. We always had fish and chips, ice cream and a big brown paper bag of dulse for the bus home. I always visit every year and recall the many happy memories of my mum and my aunt Lily at Bangor. If anyone should have any info on the McBlains, preferably in the 1700/1800's. I would be grateful. Thank you for your magnificent blog which gave me a chance to remember and to smile.

Just came back from my first visit to Bangor with my daughters and God daughters. We had an abosolutely wonderful time. My father was born and bred in Bangor and I wonder if there are any family still around. His name was Orville Boyd. He came from a very big family - 9 in all!

I was born in Bangor in 1948 and lived there until 1962, when my family moved to Liverpool. My maiden name was McCoubrie, and my uncle & aunt - Frdd & Amy Eakin - owned a jeweller's shop on Main Street - our last address was in Bryansburn Road and I went to Glenlola-Collegiate Grammar School. I'm going to be in Bangor from 20 Sep to 24 Sep this year and would love anybody who might remember me from school or something to contact me, so that maybe we could meet up. All my family, other than my sister, are still over there, and my sister Gloria is flying over from England for the reunion.
